The awesomeness that is Silverlight Spy

I’ve gone far too long without adding my two cents about the awesomeness that is Silverlight Spy.  If you are a Silverlight/Blend/UX guy like me you’ll understand how this tool is indespensible to doing your job.  Being able to Ctrl+Shift over elements on the page and navigate the tree to find things in a large solution is a massive time saver. Here is the other thing that is amazing; at runtime you can manipulate properties and see them reflected immediately.  Are you kidding me??  So much wasted time with tweaking/building/tweaking/buidling.  It’s been an epic time saver for me.

Props to the creator of this app Koen Zwikstra.  I had a question one time and emailed his contact info on the site not expecting an reponse soon, if at all and he replied within 15 minutes.  Maybe I got lucky but that was crazy goodness.  Silverlight Spy you rock!

I won an Xbox 360 with Kinect!!!

Today I won an Xbox 360 with Kinect at the Silverlight Firestarter conference on the Microsoft campus!!!
I was out of the room when it was announced and just happened to be glancing at a list of people later and saw my name. I asked what it was about and they handed me this. How much does this rock?!?!!
Thanks Microsoft!

ATT: “problems with WP7 SD card”

So I guess this isn’t breaking news but it was news to me.   I was the first person in Bellevue to purchase a Samsung Focus Windows Phone 7 this morning.  About halfway through the paperwork she told me:

“We found out this morning that there is a problem with the external sd card. Please don’t install one untill you hear from Microsoft or ATT because it could “cause problems” with your phone.”

I asked when they knew about this and she said we just found out this morning.  I guess news to her as well!
